Biosystem Packaging Take-Back Scheme SA operates pursuant to the laws on “The management of packaging and packaging waste” (Journal of Laws 2013 No. 0 item 888), “On the obligations of entrepreneurs in the management of certain waste and on product fees” (Journal of Laws 2001 No. 63 item 639 with latter amendments) and "On batteries and accumulators" (Journal of Laws 2009 No. 79 item 666).
The take-back scheme was set up in 2002 and it assumes the entrepreneurs’ responsibility to take back and recycle packaging waste and product waste and to collect and recycle waste batteries.
The company's core business includes services in the field of collection, recycling and management of packaging waste. With the entry into force of the provisions of the Act on "Batteries and accumulators", the scheme has extended its scope of services to include the collection and recycling of waste batteries and accumulators.
A comprehensive offer, professional quality and many years of experience in management of selected groups of waste mean that Biosystem Packaging Take-Back Scheme SAis currently one of the largest take-back schemes in Poland.
In order to properly fulfil the responsibilities assumed from entrepreneurs who market packaging, packaged products as well as batteries and accumulators, the company has set up its own effective collection networks of selected waste groups, it also cooperates with external entities which recycle and process the contracted waste mass.
The business partners of the company include enterprises in the waste management sector from all over Poland. Communes, districts, educational institutions and other entities interested in the offer are encouraged by Biosystem Packaging Take-Back Scheme SA to set up permanent cooperation to organise selective waste collection and to introduce environmental education.
An important company asset which constitutes its competitive advantage in the sector is the ability to fulfil the responsibility of recycling and processing waste batteries and accumulators using the infrastructure and technology of WEEE Recycling Plant in Bolęcin. Operational since 2013, the plant belongs to Biosystem SA, which along with Biosystem Packaging Take-Back Scheme and Biosystem WEEE Take-Back Scheme form the Biosystem Group.
In order to provide its Clients with the highest standards of service when assuming the statutory responsibility of taking back and recycling waste, Biosystem Packaging Take-Back Scheme SA introduced the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system as a continuation of previous certifications. In 2015 the company was granted a certificate confirming the implementation of the ISO 14001:2004 environmental management system.
